Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Once I know you’d like to go ahead, I ask for a bit of information from you so I can put you on my system. From there, I can then send you a contract, that you can review & sign electronically, and an invoice which will detail the package you’ve chosen and the price. Once the contract is signed and deposit paid, that date would be locked in my diary and I’ll be all yours.

  • To secure the date, I ask for a 25% deposit. The balance is then due one month before the wedding day.

  • Bank transfer is my main and preferred method for payment. Cash can also be accepted if you’d prefer, but the preference is bank transfer. Unfortunately at the moment, I’m unable to accept payments via debit/credit cards or PayPal.

  • Most reputable wedding photographers take full payment before the wedding day. This is a common practice across the wedding industry, from venues to florists. By requiring full payment, I can focus solely on capturing the day beautifully, without distractions or concerns about outstanding fees. This ensures the best experience for you while also running a sustainable business.

  • I aim to deliver a teaser gallery to you of approximately 50 images within 72 hours of your wedding day. After that, I will then look to deliver your completed gallery within 6-8 weeks of your wedding day.

  • When you choose to book me for your special day, you are ensuring that you receive 100% of my unwavering energy, my creativity, and my keen attention to detail. It is important to note that all of my packages are specifically designed around the concept of me working solo, allowing for a more personalised and dedicated approach to capturing your precious moments.

From my years of experience in the wedding photography industry, I’ve often found that when I take the time to fully understand the requirements and preferences of each couple, a second shooter is actually very rarely needed for capturing their special day.

However, if you are adamant about having a second photographer present on your special day, I can certainly accommodate your request. The additional cost to include a second shooter in your wedding photography package is £400.

  • Absolutely yes, I have all the necessary insurance in place, including indemnity insurance!

I carry two distinct types of insurance, with one being professional indemnity insurance, which is the typical coverage that any business should have. This specific insurance safeguards both my legal interests and those of the couple I am working with. Additionally, I possess liability insurance, which many venues often require, and I can readily supply the certificate if necessary.

Furthermore, beyond the insurance types mentioned above, I also have comprehensive equipment cover that ensures if I encounter any mishaps with my equipment, I can have it repaired or replaced quickly and efficiently. This way, I am always prepared to fulfil any of my booking responsibilities without issues.

This means there is absolutely no excuse when it comes to your wedding date; I'm fully covered and ready to go. Having this robust framework in place has ensured the smooth operation of my business and has proven to be absolutely invaluable over the years. With this level of security, I can focus entirely on the enjoyable aspects of photography, capturing treasured moments for my clients!

  • One key thing that every professional wedding photographer should definitely have is reliable backup equipment! I carry not just one, but two cameras on me at all times; these are not tucked away in my bag but rather securely attached around my waist via camera straps for easy access. The reason for this careful approach is that camera breakages and failures occur more frequently than you might think. By having two cameras at the ready, I ensure that I always have that essential extra camera body on hand to capture any precious moment that unfolds in front of me.

In addition to my cameras, I also pack multiple lenses and flash equipment to accommodate a variety of different scenarios and lighting conditions. Not many people realise just how important it is to adjust to ever-changing weather conditions, and having backup gear is a crucial part of being prepared for the whims of mother nature on your special wedding day.

One last thing to keep in mind – as a client, you might not fully understand the intricacies involved in the recording process of a camera. I record images to a memory card, and unfortunately, these cards can occasionally fail. But you needn't worry, I take extra precautions and shoot to two memory cards simultaneously. This way, if one of the cards fails unexpectedly, there is a reliable backup being recorded independently. This practice is not just a good idea, but an absolute requirement.

  • The short answer is no. Firstly, the RAW file format of most images makes them inaccessible without specialised software. Secondly, to the untrained eye, many RAW images can be quite scary due to their lack of aesthetic appeal.

You will receive your images carefully edited in my signature style in JPEG format. Please take the time to review multiple photos on my website to assess whether my editing style aligns with your preferences.

  • I back everything up in multiple locations. I also keep RAW’s for 3 years and then delete the culled images. The JPEGs and selected RAW’s from the final delivery is then archived into its final stage. If you do lose your wedding photos, I have them backed up.

There is no cost within the 3 years to re-upload your gallery, but after 3 years there will be a £50 cost and this includes a new USB.

When you receive your gallery and USB I thoroughly recommend saving them in as many locations as you can. No technology is 100% guaranteed, or guaranteed to still be accessible in 50 years time.
